With fully equipped cabins conveniently located all around town, you can relax in space and comfort at the end of a long, fun day.
More Top Things to Do with Kids in the Smokies
Wildwood Grove adds another 11 rides to the already sizeable Dollywood and is all about letting one’s imagination soar. Its theme is based on Dolly Parton’s childhood daydreams about the Smokies, from friendly animals to exploring the woods and streams.
Set in a Smoky Mountain setting, this new area features outdoor-themed activities. One of these is the Hidden Hollow, a huge (4,000 sq. ft.) area in climate control with climbing structures, slides, and games. The Great Tree Swing features an enormous “leaf boat”, while the Treetop Tower is a ride that involves giant acorns. Other rides mimic the flights of dragonflies and mockingbirds.
The $37 million expansion is the most Dollywood has ever spent on a new area and marks the first expansion in 11 years. The landscaping alone, which aims to create a natural setting of trees and shrubs, cost one million alone. It also features its own creek with an area designed just for getting one’s toes wet.
The Wildwood Tree was created as a centrepiece and is decorated with butterflies that shimmer and dance. There are also live bands playing and three huggable mascots, Benjamin Bear and a pair of woodland fairies, Flit and Flutter. Whether you are bringing children or just love amusement parks, Wildwood Grove expands the possibilities of Dollywood even more.
