Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster
The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is located on Wears Valley Road in Pigeon Forge and is just a short drive off the Parkway. This is the longest downhill alpine coaster in the country and features over one mile of twisting and turning track. The coaster is open rain or shine, so don’t let any wet weather spoil your fun! The ride sleds have been designed to accommodate one or two guests where you can ride with a friend before attempting your own trip down the mountain. Slow down for a leisurely ride or put the petal to the metal as you challenge the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster!
The Coaster at Goats on the Roof
You can’t miss the Coaster at Goats on the Roof on Wears Valley Road! There are literally goats on the roof above this famous gift shop in Pigeon Forge where you can purchase your tickets for their amazing mountain coaster. Enjoy a slow ride up the mountain to view the beautiful scenery of the Smokies before reaching the peak. At that point, race back downhill at speeds approaching 30 miles per hour along one incredible mile of track! This Smoky Mountain alpine coaster is open throughout the year in any weather condition and is appropriate for almost everyone in the family.
Ski Mountain Coaster
The Ski Mountain Coaster is located at the massive Ober Gatlinburg complex which can be reached by car or by Aerial Tramway from downtown Gatlinburg. This alpine mountain coaster is a breathtaking journey through nearly 3,750 feet of track for a total ride time of more than five minutes! The coaster borders Great Smoky Mountains National Park and begins with a 1,000 foot lift hill to the top of the mountain where you can relax in preparation for your ride. After reaching the summit, let loose through a series of dips, turns and corkscrews as you work your way back down to the loading area!
Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster
The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster was actually the first mountain coaster to appear in the Smoky Mountains and remains one of the best rides in town! Start your adventure with a pleasant ride to the top of the mountain before zipping downhill on curves and twists through the forest! The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is open during the day and in the evening, so take a daytime ride then come back at night for a completely different experience in the dark!
