When traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains, we at Alpine Mountain Chalets want to make sure you have the best experience and create the best memories. Whether you are traveling with just your family, or a big group reunion the Smoky Mountains are all about creating memories because there is so much to do! While the attractions and shops are great, the best memories can be made elsewhere. Today, we’re sharing a few things to do in the Smoky Mountains. These will be memories that will last you a lifetime.
Hiking in the Smokies
Hiking the trails is one of the top things to do in the Smoky Mountains regardless of which season you visit. Hiking in the Smokies is one of the best ways to see the beautiful national park. It’s also a great way to spend time with family or friends, have great conversations, and see views of stunning mountain tops and beautiful waterfalls that you will remember forever. A few hikes we recommend are Andrews Bold (a fairly short hike), Mt. LeConte, which is about 11 miles roundtrip, Laurel Falls, which is about 2.6 miles roundtrip, Rich Mountain Loop which is about 8.5 miles long and provides an opportunity to see Cades Cove and Porters Creek Trail which is the perfect family hike. A few more we recommend are Little River Trail, Middle Prong Trail and Gregory Ridge Trail.
Exploring Cades Cove
Cades Cove is a day full of memories and adventures. Whether you want to hike there or ride your bike there, you are sure not to be disappointed. Not all of the Smoky Mountains adventures have to be thrilling and crazy. A nice hike or bike ride through Cades Cove can certainly be a way to create memories. It is one of the more laid back Smoky Mountain activities and if you bring a picnic basket full of goodies to break and enjoy, we are sure it will be the highlight of your trip.
Enjoy Cabin Activities
After a day of hiking or exploring the Smokies, head back to your cabin to unwind. At Alpine Mountain Chalets, we offer a variety of different cabins for guests to choose from. Many of our cabins have game rooms, fully equipped kitchens to cook a great meal in and porches that you can stand out on with killer views. A few of our favorites are Catch Me If You Can and Smokies Edge.
