2. Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail
Perfect for nature lovers, the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail provides ample opportunity to view some of the most delightful wildflowers and landscapes in all of the Great Smoky Mountains. It is a 6-mile trail that consists of a wealth of greenery and gushing mountain streams, as well as a variety of historic buildings. Be sure to visit Grotto Falls, one of the more popular waterfalls in the area. The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is located a mere 1 mile from Gatlinburg.
3. Clingmans Dome
Clingmans Dome is the most challenging and rewarding sightseeing area in the National Park. This popular attraction is the highest point in Tennessee, at 6,643 feet in the air. If you’re willing to make the steep half-mile walk to the top of the summit, you will enjoy the most spectacular view of the Smokies. On a clear day, you’ll be able to see for over 100 miles! Clingmans Dome is 23 miles from Gatlinburg.
